1,500 attendees from over 45 countries have taken over and occupied the M Resort, once again making it their very own “Magento Resort.” Partners, Developers and Merchants are already mingling and soaking it all in – you can feel the excitement at every turn of the corner!

Today’s events started off strong with Developer Certification. With over 1,400 Certified Developers already in the program, we’re looking forward to welcoming additional Certified Developers into the family. If you would like to get certified here at Imagine, Magento is offering the Certification exam a few times during the conference at a special discounted rate. View the exam schedule.

The Imagine Marketplace opened this afternoon, featuring 85 sponsors. PayPal’s lounge inside the Marketplace features two Harley Davidson motorcycles. Stop by to take your picture on these cool bikes, and make sure to walk through the Marketplace and say “hello” to all of our fantastic sponsors. Tomorrow, Coveroo will be inside the Marketplace, creating custom, laser-etched phone and tablet cases.

At 4pm we kicked off our annual Developer BarCamp & Networking Event. We look forward to hosting BarCamp every year as its such a unique opportunity for Developers to learn about a myriad of Magento topics in short, rapid fire presentation format, as well as present themselves. Among the most popular topics included tracks on “Developing Magento apps using the Mobile SDK,” “Previewing Extensibility in Magento 2,” and “Lightning Fast Magento with JSON, AngularJS & Magento.”

For those seeking knowledge on best practice SEO techniques, The Magento U team ran a session on SEO for Magento Merchants. Led by Magento Solution Partner Blue Acorn’s Kevin Eichelberger, the session focused on providing an introduction to SEO in eCommerce environments, and how merchants and businesses can optimize their Magento stores for organic search.

Imagine 2013 officially opened at 7pm tonight with our welcome reception out on the deck. The weather held in what turned into a beautiful night for food, music and fantastic networking.
